His personal arms impale the traditional arms of the See of Canterbury: Azure an episcopal cross palewise Or; overall a pall Proper. Rather ironic that the arms of the See of Canterbury display the archiepiscopal pall (or pallium) a vestment granted to Metropolitan Archbishops by the Pope to signify their communion with the See of Rome! Such a communion no longer exists and current Archbishops of Canterbury no longer wear the pallium. Nevertheless, history is history. Still a very fine coat of arms.
